Scale
Meatball Mixture
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- ½ pound ground pork
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- ½ cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
- ⅓ cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 tablespoons green onions, chopped
For Cooking
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F to get it ready for cooking the meatballs.
- Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, gently combine the ground beef, ground pork, beaten egg, Italian seasoned breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, kosher salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and chopped green onions. Mix just until all ingredients are incorporated to keep the meatballs tender.
- Form the Meatballs: Shape the mixture into 1 to 1 ½ inch meatballs. Place them on a parchment-lined plate or sheet pan to keep them ready for cooking without sticking.
- Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Lightly spray the inside of the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking and promote even crisping.
- Arrange and Cook: Place the meatballs in the basket, leaving space between each to allow air circulation. Cook for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown on the outside and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 165°F. Cook in batches if necessary depending on your air fryer size.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat mixture to avoid tough meatballs.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure meatballs are thoroughly cooked.
- Spacing meatballs properly in the air fryer basket cooks them evenly and achieves the best crispness.
- Cooking times may vary slightly based on air fryer model and meatball size.
