This dish combines the sweetness of honey with the tang of lime, enhanced with garlic and fresh parsley, making it a delicious and healthy seafood option for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
For the Salmon and Marinade
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup honey
- Juice of two limes
- 1 lb piece of salmon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh chopped parsley, to taste
- Lime slices (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Prepare a baking tray lined with a sheet of aluminum foil and set aside.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter for 1–2 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook until it just starts to sizzle. Then add the honey and lime juice, stirring well to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then remove from heat.
- Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillet on the aluminum foil. Pour the honey lime marinade evenly over the salmon. Season with salt and black pepper, then sprinkle with fresh chopped parsley. Optionally, place lime slices on top of the fillet for added flavor.
- Seal and Bake: Fold the aluminum foil tightly over the salmon to create a sealed packet. Place the packet on the prepared baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 18–20 minutes, or until the salmon is fully cooked and flakes easily with a fork.
- Serve: Carefully open the foil packet to retain the juices and serve the salmon hot, spooning the extra marinade from the foil over the top for added flavor.
Notes
- Cooking times may vary slightly depending on your oven; adjust as necessary to avoid overcooking the salmon.
- Using fresh lime juice is preferred for the best tangy flavor, but bottled juice can be used in a pinch.
- For an extra touch, garnish with additional fresh parsley or a wedge of lime.
- This recipe is gluten-free and can be adapted for various dietary needs by ensuring the butter used is compliant.
