Ingredients
Scale
Truffle Base
- 1 box of Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes (5 cakes)
- 3 tablespoons festive sprinkles
Coating and Decoration
- 8 ounces white chocolate or candy melts
- 3 tablespoons red candy melts for drizzling (optional)
- Green sanding sugar for decoration
Instructions
- Prepare the Cake Base: Unwrap the Little Debbie Christmas Tree Cakes and place them in a large bowl. Use a handheld mixer to mix the cakes until a crumbly dough forms. Add the festive sprinkles and mix well to incorporate evenly.
- Form Truffle Balls: Using a tablespoon, scoop portions of the cake mixture and roll each between the palms of your hands to form balls. Place these cake balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat this process until all the dough is used.
- Melt White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate or candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl by heating in 30-second increments, stirring between each, or use a double boiler until smooth.
- Coat the Truffles: Dip each chilled cake ball into the melted white chocolate using a fork or dipping tool, ensuring it is fully coated. Let any excess chocolate drip off, then place the coated truffle back onto the parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Prepare Red Candy Melt Drizzle: Melt the red candy melts in a microwave-safe piping bag or ziplock bag by microwaving in 30-second intervals. Massage the bag between intervals to ensure complete melting. Snip a small edge off the bag.
- Decorate Truffles: Drizzle the melted red candy melts over the coated truffles. Immediately sprinkle green sanding sugar on top for decoration. Refrigerate the truffles for about 10 minutes to allow the chocolate to set before serving. Enjoy your festive cake truffles!
Notes
- For best results, chill the cake balls before dipping in chocolate to maintain shape.
- You can substitute white chocolate with any candy melts or chocolate of your choice.
- If red candy melts are unavailable, consider using colored icing or skip the drizzle for a simpler look.
- Store leftover truffles in the refrigerator in an airtight container for up to one week.
