Description

These Cheesy Breakfast Sliders are an easy and delicious breakfast option featuring fluffy scrambled eggs, melted cheddar cheese, and savory deli ham layered between soft Hawaiian rolls. Topped with a buttery, sweet glaze and crunchy fried onions, these sliders bake to golden perfection, making them perfect for a crowd or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 10 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons water
  • 2 Tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 (12-count) package Hawaiian rolls
  • 1012 slices cheddar cheese
  • pounds thinly sliced deli ham (about 912 slices)

Topping

  • 2 Tablespoons salted butter
  • 2 Tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 Tablespoons crushed French fried onions
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350℉ (177℃). Spray a 9”x13” casserole dish with cooking spray to prevent sticking and set it aside.
  2. Mix Eggs: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 10 large eggs, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, ¼ teaspoon black pepper, and 2 tablespoons water until well combined.
  3. Scramble Eggs: Melt 2 tablespoons salted butter in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat. Pour in the egg mixture and cook, stirring gently until eggs are just set but still slightly wet in some spots. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Prepare Rolls: Without separating the rolls, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom half of the rolls evenly in the prepared casserole dish. Set the top halves aside.
  5. Layer Cheese and Ham: Arrange 6 slices of cheddar cheese evenly over the bottom halves of the rolls. Next, layer the thinly sliced deli ham (about 1½ pounds or 9-12 slices) over the cheese.
  6. Add Eggs and More Cheese: Spread the scrambled eggs evenly over the ham layer. Then add the remaining cheese slices on top of the eggs.
  7. Top with Roll Buns: Place the top halves of the Hawaiian rolls on top of the layered ingredients. Press down gently to compact the sandwich.
  8. Prepare Topping Glaze: In a microwave-safe medium bowl, melt 2 tablespoons salted butter. Stir in 2 tablespoons maple syrup, 2 tablespoons crushed French fried onions, 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, and 1 teaspoon poppy seeds until well combined.
  9. Brush and Bake: Brush the glaze mixture generously over the tops and sides of the rolls. Loosely cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil.
  10. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes covered. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese has melted and the rolls are golden brown on top.
  11. Serve: Once baked, cut between the rolls to separate individual sliders. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage: Store leftover sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat individually in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.
  • Freezing: For meal prep, wrap each slider individually in plastic wrap and place in a freezer-safe bag. They will keep up to 3 months. Reheat from frozen in the microwave using 30-second intervals until heated through, without thawing first.
